Even when people are getting the best of cancer treatment, they often feel like they need more help with organizing their care and managing symptoms and side effects. Helpsy aims to empower members to take control of their health through a real-time virtual nurse support service via mobile devices, and also through our website and automated phone calls.
Based upon a member’s health condition, Helpsy automatically creates a whole-health care plan which addresses the physical, emotional, social and socio-economic needs of each member. Members also have access to Helpsy’s community chat forum with other members and advocates to support and engage them throughout their journey.
Helpsy manages 500 unique symptoms and 20,000 remedy recommendations from over 30 healthcare modalities (e.g. patient education, nutrition, etc.), all backed by evidence-based research and science. Members can access Helpsy’s curated resources library for support services (e.g. transportation, financial assistance, lodging, etc.) and self-care (e.g. emotional health, lifestyle changes, diet & nutritional counseling, fitness coaching, and support services).
In a clinical study, an intervention using many of Helpsy’s features led to significantly improved quality of life, less disruption to treatment, and cost savings.
Thanks to Helpsy, patients always have nursing support, right “in their pocket.”
The purpose of Beyond Conventional Cancer Therapies (BCCT) is to help you—a motivated person with cancer—explore the best integrative approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment that go beyond conventional cancer care. We write for family members, friends, clinicians, researchers, and cancer advocates as well. But you, the motivated person with cancer, are our main concern.
We focus on information based on or informed by science. We know that our readers cannot always wait for scientific certainty. We summarize the research about promising therapies that may help you. We note the cautions and concerns. We assess the evidence to help you make the best choices for your care.
BCCT’s immediate goal is to help you search for complementary therapies that might be best to integrate into your conventional treatment plan.
